Carolina Wild

Neuse River Hat Trick

It is shad season in North Carolina, so I went to Anderson Point Park this morning to try to catch some for myself. It was a nice morning even though the weather has been a bit funky lately and the water temperature seemed low. I wasn’t going to let that stop me. I had been waiting all week to get out there. I purchased a couple of new shad rigs, set myself up the night before and I thought success was certain. But there were no shad to be had. It was a still a good morning. I caught one bluegill, one channel catfish and one largemouth bass. From now on this will be referred to as the “Neuse River Hat Trick.”
